31 August, 1837: (Chinghom 15, 1012 M.E) Abraham Malpan celebrated the First Holy Communion in Malayalam (it was in Syriac till then), in the Maramon Mar Thoma Parish.
Malpan had translated the liturgy into Malayalam, as Syriac was unknown to most of the
congregation.
